A complete ground-floor transformation in Bingley
This genuine BD16 project combined a full kitchen renovation with structural wall removal, steel beam installation and a new downstairs shower room. The work created a more open, practical ground floor while coordinating the structural, building and finishing trades as one managed project.
The project brief
- Remove the existing kitchen and ground-floor finishes
- Remove the wall between the sunroom and living room
- Remove the wall between the hallway and kitchen
- Install structural steel beams in accordance with the engineer's report
- Alter the sunroom opening, carry out masonry work and raise the floor level
- Form a new French-door opening and install matching white PVC doors
- Install replacement windows, including obscured glazing where required
- Construct insulated stud walls and install double pocket-door frames
- Complete first- and second-fix plumbing for the new shower room and kitchen
- Coordinate electrics, plastering, kitchen installation, doors, skirting and architraves
- Complete external K-rend repairs around the altered openings
Structural alterations and RSJ installation
